Measurement
Measure What Changes in Your Roofing Workflow
How measurement works
Every metric starts with a clear definition. The team agrees on what counts as an event, when the clock starts, and when it stops. The reporting period is stated before any chart is read. Without those definitions, a number is just a number.
Baselines come first. The team records the current state for a defined period before any change is introduced. That baseline is the reference point. After the workflow is live, the same definitions are applied again. The difference is the change, not a claim.
Four measures RoofMaxing tracks
First useful response time
The time from a captured inquiry to a meaningful human or AI exchange. An automated receipt is not a useful response. Measured as median and 90th percentile over the reporting period.
Inspection booking rate
The share of qualified inquiries that produced a scheduled inspection. Qualified means the inquiry passed the configured service area and request type rules.
Open-estimate follow-up coverage
The share of sent estimates enrolled in a follow-up sequence. Tracks whether each open conversation has a defined next step rather than relying on memory.
Completed-job review-request coverage
The share of verified completed jobs that received a neutral review request. Measures process consistency, not review counts.
Editable baseline illustration
This table shows empty baseline and result values. A dash means the value has not been set. No number here is an achieved result.
| Measure | Baseline | After |
|---|---|---|
| First useful response time | — | — |
| Inspection booking rate | — | — |

Verification and limitations
Source attribution has limits. A lead source label depends on how the original inquiry was captured. Duplicate records are deduplicated before counting. Unknown and missing values are labeled, not hidden. No animated live numbers appear without a live feed.
A scenario built from your entered assumptions is labeled as a scenario. It is not an achieved outcome. The opportunity calculator and scorecard use the same approach.
Define your baseline
Use a strategy session to agree on the measures that matter and set a baseline before any change.
